The green north, with rivers, woodland and part of the Périgord-Limousin regional nature park. Generally quieter than the south.
The northern part of the department is greener and wetter, with rivers, meadows and woodland. Brantôme is the best-known town.
It suits walkers, cyclists and anyone who would rather trade the famous sights for space and quiet.
